HUZUR VADISI, TURKEY 23RD-30TH MAY 2016 WITH FIONA STANILAND AND TANYA GOODMAN BAILEY
This retreat (voted in the top ten independent retreats in Europe) comes with a great reputation for their home grown, vegetarian cuisine. Some people come here just for the food, most of which is produce from their own land. The kitchen cater for all special diets and request they know before you come so they can make the necessary arrangements to their menu.
Set among fig and olive groves in the region of South West Turkey known as Lycia, Huzur Vadisi means "peaceful valley' set in a secluded mountain region a few miles from the gloriously unspoiled coastline and the local marina town of Gocek. The original restored farmhouse is the centre from which you can spread out to the surrounding hammocks, beautiful natural stone swimming pool and the traditional kosk: a wooden summerhouse, is a welcoming place for siestas and evening gatherings. This place offers stunning views, clear night skies, great walking in the pine forests and exceptionally warm hospitality. A very peaceful environment.
Fiona and Tanya have been friends since Fiona turned up to collect her complimentary craniosacral treatment Tanya offered to Triyoga teacher trainees. Since, they have collaborated on each other’s creative projects and have been threatening to host a yoga holiday together for years!
Fiona has been practising yoga for 20 years and teaching and running retreats for 10. Students are drawn to her warmth, sense of creativity and inclusive approach which de-mystifies yet stays true to the practices ancient roots. Her ‘Hatha Flow’ classes focus on alignment and breath to bring you deeper into your posture whatever your level. You get to build strength and flexibility whilst exploring both stillness and fluidity. Classes build a safe grounded foundation from which we can expand and approach the more challenging postures with a sense of fun. Fiona is also a singer, actress and show producer.
Tanya is a biodynmic craniosacral therapist, an established Triyoga teacher and the creator of The Belly Love Method, a digestive health programme. Her late afternoon yin class includes yoga therapy routines for lower back and digestive health care. The class builds through the week to help you meditate for longer periods of time. If you are interested in biodynamic craniosacral therapy, Tanya will be offering a limited number of treatments throughout the week which you are recommended to reserve in advance.
Reconnect with nature on this Spring-time yoga holiday with Tanya and Fiona who offer a balanced programme of Hatha Flow, Restorative Yin and Yoga Therapy. The aim is to re-set, be free from stress and distractions and return to your true blissful nature. Spring is a time of awakening and renewal and we invite you to reconnect with your own true nature and rhythm in this magical setting. Explore the sights, sounds and smells of Spring: olives trees blossom, the meadow is fresh, flowers bloom, light wind blows through pines and the shepherd’s lyre sounds through the valley.
Huzur Vadisi is the perfect place to indulge your creative passions, whether it is hiking, drawing and painting or writing, we encourage you to indulge. Alternatively, if you prefer to completely relax, the poolside or your hammock will provide the perfect spots!
More yoga holiday than a retreat, our intention is to give you a practical tool kit that inspires you to create space for retreat in everyday of your life.
